Kids: write an Essay about a Lost Village in Rhode Island! The Rhode Island Sheep Cooperative is again this year sponsoring an essay contest to name the upcoming edition of the Rhody Warm Blanket. The essay contest is for any youth 18 years of age or younger, and the essay should be written about a "Lost Village" of Rhode Island. The essay should be no less than 250 words and no more than 500 words. It should include a history of the village, incorporating what it was known for, and how it became or considered a "Lost Village." The RI Sheep Cooperative's definition of a "Lost Village" is: "a village that was abandoned, destroyed or is not known to most people today." Previous editions of the Rhody Warm Blankets which have been named after lost villages are: South Scituate, Kent, Rockland, Ashland, Richmond, Little Rest, Hanton City,  Nooseneck Village, Ramtail, Huntsville, and Slatersville  – but there are plenty more out there.

Essays should be mailed to Rhode Island Sheep Cooperative (address below) and must be postmarked by October 15, 2020.

The winner of the essay contest will be recognized in the Rhody Warm blanket brochure, will receive recognition and a Kindle Fire and Lap Throw at the next Cooperative meeting.
